President Miguel Alemán speaking before congress.

Miguel Alemán, President of Mexico from 1946-52, made friends throughout the world, for Mexico as well as for himself. He believed in the future of Mexico and worked all his life to help its people live full and productive lives and to create the opportunities to develop the human and material potential of that great nation. Before Mr. Alemán died in 1983 he created the foundation in Mexico which bears his name. Funded by his family and his estate, the Fundación Miguel Alemán A.C. carries on his works and spirit. It is housed in President Alemán's former home, which is now a museum.

In recognition of Mr. Alemán's untiring service to his people and his country, a group of the former president's friends, business associates and admirers in the United States formed the Friends of Mexican Development Foundation in 1984.
